There are few tools required for accomplishment of this task. The usage of such tools will reduce the man power required and makes it easy to complete the task. It may include a set of new fuses,a screw driver, a fuse puller.
There is a dash board which surrounds the stereo in the car. It covers all the components and wiring that come into the stereo. To repair the stereo one must remove the dash board first. The dash board is fixed to the car stereo rigidly by use of screws.
So in order to remove the dash board first we have to unscrew the connecting screws with the help of a screw driver of a suitable size. The dash board is removed from the stereo and placed aside until the operation gets over.
After removing the screws and pulling out the dash board then the stereo is also pulled out. Next the wiring is removed from the stereo so as to look at the problem inside it without causing any damage to any parts of the wire or the machine parts.
In all the stereos there will be a black cable connecting the antenna to the stereo. This is used for radio reception. This wire is also unplugged from the stereo like the other wires.
Then, the fuse is pulled. This is present at the rear of the audio system and can be pulled with the help of fuse pullers. The fuse is then checked for any kinds of damage.
In case of blown out fuse, it may be blackened. The other case can be a broken line that goes across the old fuse. In either case the fuse is replaced with new fuse.
The damage in the fuse wire can be found in three ways one if the wire running into the fuse wire is broken or if the color of the fuse wire changes to black that is it is burnt and the last way to find the damage is very simple that is the fuse will be melted or blown.
If any of the three is noticed then it is mandatory to change the fuse wire.
The final step to be done is to re install all the screws and cables back to the stereo. The black cable to the antenna is also fixed back. Replace the dash board also.
