I test drove both of ‘em. The Taurus feels much more spacious inside. Tons of leg room, you can easily fit three grown adults in the back of a Taurus. You can in the Accord, but it’s a lot more cramped. Bottom line for most Americans, if the performance is that close, we’ll choose size and comfort, buy the Taurus SEL and you’re about the same price as a top shelf Accord.

this is a bad comparison. The Honda Accord is not even in the same class. Go to a rental company and Accord isn’t even considered a full-sized vehicle. The Taurus is. The Honda Accord has gotten bigger, but it’s in the same class of the Altima, Mazda 6 and Sonata. Compare the Taurus to a much bigger car next time.

Why would they make the Taurus a midsize sedan if they already have a midsize sedan called the Fusion which by the way won car of the year from multiple car magazines.
