It works perfectly in my car. We lift up hatch only, but pops out and the rest of the hatch weight quite well.

I installed them (buy two) and 2000 eclipse fit and work perfectly. You may be able to find them for cheaper at Autozone, but I was not able to. And my title the truss is strong enough to raise the hatch with spoiler. It's nice when you can pop the hatch release inside or use the key and the hatch will disengage really enough. If you have problems with your hatch only working in heat or had the hatch to drop your head i recommend getting them.
