Honda Jazz Price and Hybrid Model Features Review

Honda Jazz is releasing its hybrid version at the Paris Motorshow. The manufacturer will offer Honda Jazz price at very affordable rates for the middle class society.

The decision to go green through the release of Hybrid will give Jazz some strategic positions in competing with its rival the Ford Fiesta.

The new Hybrid Jazz takes advantage from Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid technology.

Both the non-hybrid and hybrid variants have the same cargo floor area.

Let’s take a look on gas mileage for petrol version of Jazz. For manual transmission the conversion rate is 6.4L/100km while the hybrid version spends 4.4L/100km.

However the Econetic Ford Fiesta beats the Jazz with 3.9L/100km fuel conversion rate.

Okay, let’s get back to the hybrid model again, inside its cabin you can see a monotone dashboard with blue instrument lighting, and the so called “Magic” rear seats. The cargo area has the volume of 831 liters or 29 cubic feet.

In India, the company set Honda Jazz price starting at Rs 736,000 for the basic model. That’s around USD 16,000. Of course the hybrid would cost more.

The features that look tempting to most young drivers are GPS navigation, leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity and a rear entertainment system.

Under the hybrid hood you’ll find a 1.3 liter hybridized gasoline fuel engine. The company promised to release the performance specifications later.

According to Honda, this engine is connected to a CVT transmission.

The highest honda jazz price tag belongs to “Select Edition Active” model which costs around Rs 780,015 or around USD 17,200 in Bangalore, India.

Are you a car owner with a Do-It-Yourselfer soul ? If you are, then you’ll find this car body repair guide to be both helpful and useful.

When you drive your car out of the garage, you expose her to a cruel world, where scratches, dings, and dents haunt the entire journey.

Okay, I know my words are a little bit exaggerating. But it’s an undeniable fact that sometimes your car will have small dents or gouges.

SEEN ON TV Ding King

These dents are too costly to repair considering their small sizes and the amount of money that you must spend.

However you simply can’t ignore them because they affect the overall appearance of your ride.

If this is the case, you may want to consider performing the car body repair yourself. By doing it on your own you can cut a big amount of cost.

Body Filler

If you use body filler correctly it may result in a well done repair. Almost every car body shop uses a little body filler.

On early days, the manufacturers produced body filler from lead, but such chemical substance was found to be harmful to brain cells and reproductive functions. So they stopped using lead.

Basically a body filler (or Bondo) is a two-part putty. It is often used to repair dents in cars.

When mixed the filler becomes rock hard and can be sanded to a desired shape.

Body filler is actually a plastic resin, it adheres well to metal and can last for a long time.

Performing a car body repair is sometimes an unavoidable need. But you can reduce the amount of money spent if you are able to do it on your own, as long as you have the right tools, sufficient knowledge and a little experience.

Using a Shoe Polish For Scratches

This is the simplest method of car body repair. You should purchase shoe polish that matches your car’s color.

All you need is rub the polish over the scratches. After the polish has been applied, sand it over by using a sandpaper.

The sanding will even out the scratch. When sanding, you should remove the shoe polish completely.

Now, buff the scratched area using a cloth. In order to remove any dirt that’s left, wash the scratched area.

If after performing the repair the scratches are still visible, It’s better to hand your car to the professionals.

Car Body Repair Equipments

If you’re serious about going into car body repair, you may want to purchase various dent repair tools. These tools may cost you about $1,000 to $2,000. Here are several tools that you may want to have:

  • Dent pulling tool
  • Small drill bit 1/8″ thick
  • Grit disk for grinding down the paint.
  • A hammer
  • Body filler
  • Primer and paint for larger dents

Unless you already own some of these tools, It may be less costly to take your vehicle to the professional car body repair shop. But if you’re serious about getting into this kind of service, why not ?

An Alternative Method for Dent Removal

Paintless Dent Repair
There’s no car owners that wish to have any dents on their rides. But there are times when these things just happen.

Today there’s a distinctive method of dent removal that doesn’t require to remove (beating out) the dents or remove any parts of your car.

Due to the nature of the method, the price of such service is usually much cheaper than traditional dent repair.

This method is usually known as paintless dent repair or paintless dent removal.

However those who perform the repair must have sufficient skill, experience, patience, and proper tools.

As its name suggests, the procedures don’t involve any painting process. That’s why the process takes lesser time to complete.

Most paintless dent repair businesses are mobile services. So you can call and ask them to perform the task at home.

The first thing a repair staff usually does is push the metal back to its original state.
This should be done gradually and on a small part of the dent one at a time. This task usually takes several hours to finish depending on the size of the dent.

Most of the tools that are used are long in size, they have flat shape, and solid nature.

This is required to make sure the tool is able to sustain the amount of pressure that will be applied.

This device is used by sliding into the gap that’s usually located behind the panel.

From behind of the panel, the repair guy will apply pressure using the tool to the dent.

This procedure is done slowly in order to push the metal so that it pops back to its original form.

H & S Auto Shot (HS 7500) Glue Puller Paintless Dent Removal

The dent removal procedure must be done with full attention and carefulness. Each small section of the dent is pushed, one at a time.

When performed correctly, the front side of panel should pop out without any damages.

In order to gain a good result from the procedure, you should give the repair specialist enough room for him to work.

This is necessary since the repair specialist need room for applying proper pressure on the back side of the metal.

Today there many shops that sell tools for paintless dent repair. But you should aware that in order to perform this procedure you need to get a proper training first.

Because without sufficient knowledge and practice you may create whether ripples in the metal or chips on the paint.

If this happens you’ll end up spending much more money for the repair or worse, the repair specialist may not be able to completely fix the dent.

The Complete Guide Towards Starting Your Own Paintless Dent Removal Business

However, if you decide to leave it to repair specialist, you must be certain about the qualification and experience of the repair guy.

You should also acknowledge that not every dent can be repaired using this method.

The location of the dent is the major factor that determines whether the dent removal can or cannot be processed using this paintless way.

If there is a crease in the metal, the chance to remove the dent using paintless method will be much lesser.

Use an iPod Kit to Connect to Your Car Stereo : Learn Why and How

Are you looking for a solution for integrating your beloved iPod with the audio system of your vehicle?

iPod Kit for Car, that’s the gadget you’ll be needing to accomplish the task. All you need to do is attach the kit to your car stereo and as the result, you’ll be able to control the iPod from the radio’s controls.

But before installing this car iPod kit you should remove first the negative cable that’s connected from the battery post.

You may ask Mr. Google to find an iPod kit for your car. But if you ask me, I’ll recommend Amazon because it’s more straightforward and often offers the most competitive deals, that’s my humble opinion.

There are several types of iPod kits to choose from.

The first is those that connect your iPod to the amplifier through an auxiliary input. The most typical problem with these kits is you need a separate connector in order to charge the iPod.

InCarCables Car Stereo Ipod/mp3 Auxiliary Aux-in Input Cable 3.5mm (4ft)

AUX Audio Cable 3.5MM White Jack For iPod/MP3/Zune/Car Audio

The second type is iPod kit that harness the FM radio frequency to transmit data. The kit uses FM transmitter that you can plug to headphone input or USB port of your iPod.

It’s very easy to use and there’s nothing to install

The problem with the second type is in its reliability. Since it uses frequency to transmit data, there are external factors that may interfere the quality of sound that’s transmitted.

The sound that’s generated through the radio is usually not too clear.

Car Mp3 Player FM Transmitter for Ipod Mp3 Mp4

Griffin RoadTrip FM Transmitter and Car Charger for iPod *Damaged Box*

Now, the best type of iPod system in my opinion is those that use a wire harness that has the ability to connect directly to CD changer port of your car or amplifier wire harness.

USA SPEC PA11-HON2y – iPod to 2003-2006 Honda Factory Radio Interface w/ Auxiliary Audio input

How To Install :

1. You should remove the center dashboard panel.

Do a quick observation upon your center dashboard and find out whether you must remove only the area where the radio is located or a big portion of the front panel.

For some types of cars, you’ll need to remove the whole center panel in order to gain access to the wires that are located behind the radio.

In order to pry the panel off, you can use a hard piece of plastic. There are clips that hold the panel in place. These clips are usually located along the inside of the dashboard.

You should be careful not to make any scratch while removing the panel.

2. Pull out the car radio.

After removing the panel, you may now pull out the radio. You may attach the wire harness for your CD changer to a slot that’s usually available.

If the CD changer is attached to the slot already, pull it out and use the wire harness that’s provided by the iPod kit. The iPod kit’s module should be attached to the other end of the cable.

There is one more cable, this cable connects the module and your iPod. Attach the end of the cable that goes into the slot on the module.

Insert the cable into the dashboard. You should find a place for running the cable out from the dashboard.

Some prefer to run it through glove compartment. But this method has a weakness because you must keep opening the compartment in order to access the iPod.

At the passenger’s side, on the side of the center dashboard, you will find a panel. Loosen the panel by removing its screws.

Now you need to run the cable for iPod out through this area and replace the panel.

Pac AAI-FRD04 Auxiliary Input for Select 2004?2007 Ford Vehicles

3. Now, you may further install the panel and the radio back.

Place the cables and wires that run from and to the car stereo back into dashboard.

Keep the module inside the dashboard together with those wires and cables.

You should do it carefully and make sure there’s enough room for car radio.

Push the radio gently into the right position inside the dashboard.

Attach the previously removed center panel on the dashboard. Snap it firmly into place.

Make sure the panel is flush on the dashboard. Connect the cable for iPod to your iPod’s USB port.

If the iPod Kit comes with a dip switch, you should set the switches according to your car stereo’s configuration. Read the manual to find out the settings guide.

Congratulations, at this point you should have successfully installed the iPod kit. You may play all your favorite songs that are stored on the iPod.

If you need to access the next or previous songs and increase or decrease the volume, You can do it from your radio’s controls.

Let Me Show You How to Replace Camry’s Brake Light Switch

The first Camry was designed and built early in 1980. It was targeted for economical front-wheel-drive sedan segment. It was equipped with a front transverse-mounted four-cylinder engine.

The fact is Camry has grown in size through the years. But as a mid sized car Camry still rely on its four cylinder, transverse-mounted engine in order to harness the front wheels.

The brake light switch that’s located under the dashboard of your Camry is used for activating rear brake lights whenever the brake pedal is depressed. A bad brake-light switch may lead to malfunctioned rear brake lights.

Now, let’s learn how to replace the brake light switch:

1. First, you need to open driver’s side front door.

2. Find the brake light switch. It’s located near the top of the brake pedal and mounted to the underside of your Camry’s dashboard.

3. Pushing in the tabs on both side of the wiring connector and pull it straight out in order to unplug it from the brake light switch.

4. Hold the switch and turn it around counterclockwise. Pull it straight out from the mounting hole

5. Insert the replacement brake light switch into the hole and rotate clockwise until it locks firmly.

6. Plug back the previously unplugged connector into the new switch until it snaps properly.

The obvious signs of malfunctioned brake-light switch are whether the brake lights don’t work at all or they remain on all the time.

Most of the time this problem can be fixed by replacing the switch. But however you should check the brake lights’ fuse first before deciding to purchase the new replacement switch. This fuse that is used by all brake lights is located inside Camry’s fuse box.

To find the location of the brake-light fuse, you should refer to your Camry owner’s guide.

If there’s only a single brake light that is not working then it’s more likely a blown bulb or there’s something wrong with the bulb socket which most of the time is corrosion.

You may purchase the replacement brake-light switches of your Camry at local Toyota dealer. You may also order brake light switches online which is very easy and convenient, just check out below.

The benefit of purchasing online is you can read the reviews from other users and perform research on several alternatives. More options are always better.

How to Fix Toyota Camry Starter Problems

How many of us who face difficulties when trying to find out what causes the starter problems on Camrys?

Fear not, let’s learn how to perform several easy tests to find out the cause of the problem.

They are simple tests, you will need a test light. You may also prepare a multimeter in case we need it.

Many times, starter system problems are caused by loose or damaged connection, it’s also possible they are caused by worn out component that has stopped operating.

Starter Doesn’t Operate at All

If you experience that the starter doesn’t operate at all, you may perform a simple test which can help you trace the problem.

Now, try turn on the headlights and ask someone to turn the ignition key to “Start”. Observe the lights, if they remain bright, you may want to check for a bad or open component in the circuit of starter.

Now follow the path along your starter circuit, use a test light to help you do this. Begin the checking from the battery, see if there’s a loose connection or corosion, dirt or grease.

As you test each connection at the ignition switch, neutral start switch, and solenoid, ask a friend to turn the ignition to key to “Start”.

When your test light bulb does not come on, it means the voltage stops on that connection. If this happens, that is the troublemaker.

If during the first test the headlights dim, you should the check the battery for voltage. Make certain that all of the connections in the starter circuit are in tight and clean condition. You may take the starter to your local auto parts store or auto shop for further test.

Starter Makes Noise

The first step is check your battery whether it has the correct voltage or not. Check every connection, make sure they are clean and tight.

When necessary, you may raise the front of the Camry. Support it using jack stands. Use a ratchet or wrench and socket to make sure the mounting bolts of the starter are tight.

You may want to make sure you installed the correct starter if you have just replaced it.
If you installed the wrong one, the flywheel ring gear and pinion gear on the starter won’t mesh properly.

At each component in the starter circuit you should do a voltage drop test at the connections. Use your multimeter to do this.

Now probe the terminal and the fitting at every component connection. If everything is normal the voltage should not exceed 0.5 volt.

If you deal with an old motor starter, those defective or worn internal components are most likely fail to operate the pinion gear properly.

When necessary, detach the starter and bring it to your local auto parts store or auto shop for further tests.

Starter Operates Slowly

Similar to previous tests, you may want to check for proper voltage at the battery and make sure all starter circuit’s connections are in clean and tight condition.

Perform a voltage drop test at every connection as explained in the previous “Starter Makes Noise” section.

Raise the front of your car and check to make sure that all the connections are secured and the starter is tightly mounted.

If necessary, remove your starter and bring it to the nearest auto parts store or auto shop for further examination.

Oxygen Sensors (O2) : A Friendly Introduction

For over 20 years oxygen sensors have been around with us, but most car owners don’t know if they have one or more of these parts attached on their cars.

But when they get a Check Engine signal and the code that indicates there’s a problem with O2 sensor, then they begin to aware of these devices.

They will also realize the role of this part whenever their cars fail an emission test due to a dead or sluggish O2 sensor.

A car may need a new O2 sensor when the engine is not running properly or experiencing inefficient fuel consumption.

In reality most of us don’t have a clue how to perform checks on this small device that’s frequently blamed for various kinds of problems related to emission and driveability.

Bosch 13613 Oxygen Sensor, OE Type Fitment

Now let’s learn how this O2 sensor works. The sensor works by monitoring the fuel mixture. This is done so that computer system in the car may adjust the air and fuel ratio to reach the best fuel economy and lowest possible emissions.

How does O2 sensor monitor the fuel mixture ? It reacts to unburned oxygen in the exhaust.

When the air and fuel mixture reaches a high level, it produces a signal with higher voltage and when the mixture goes lean, it drops the voltage of the signal.

So the sensor behaves like a switch that are read by the computer everytime the fuel mixture fluctuates, which is continuously.

Now the computer reacts to sustain the fuel mixture balance. When the sensor reads high fuel, the computer will reduce the amount of fuel injected into the engine.

On the opposite, when the mixture goes lean (low fuel) the computer will inject more fuel. This will create an average mixture that is close to ideal ratio and produce low emission level and low fuel consumption.

The O2 sensor plays the key role in this process.

In addition to input from O2 sensor, the computer also utilizes input from several other sensors including throttle position sensor, manifolD absolute pressure, airflow sensor, coolant sensor, etc.

Those inputs are used to optimize the air and fuel ratio for adapting to fluctuating operating condition.

But however The O2 sensor still play the main role in determining fuel mixture. So, if O2 sensor doesn’t function well, it will screw up the fuel burning process.

Most bad O2 sensors will read minimum fuel ratio, the engine will then burn too much fuel and generate unnecessary pollution.

There are several causes to low fuel readings :

  • Obsolete device
  • Engine compression or ignition problems
  • Contamination
  • A ad wiring connection

Ford And Mazda: A Strong International Relationship

During the 1990s, Ford Motor Company went on an international buying spree snapping up small automakers around the globe. Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Aston Martin all were brought within the Ford fold, and Mazda, by default has become part of Ford’s line up even though the Japanese automaker is “only” partly owned by Ford. Ford parts and Mazda parts are sometimes interchangeable as well as are some of their vehicles. Let’s examine closely the relationship between the two automakers and how their synergies benefit both companies.

2008_12_11_DSC02205
The relationship between Ford and Mazda has been growing over the years, but is well known by auto historians as having started in the early 1970s when the Mazda pick up truck was imported to the North American market by Ford and called the Courier. From 1972 to 1983, the Courier was part of the Ford line up, but in reality it was a Mazda.

From 19 84 on, Ford decided to build its own small pickup truck and the Ranger was born. Mazda, meanwhile, redesigned their truck and sold it separately until 2002. When time came for a new Mazda truck, Mazda tapped Ford and the current Ranger was rebadged as the Mazda “B” series.

From 1991 to 2001 Ford’s Explorer was rebadged and sold as the Mazda Navajo. Only a two door version was available and the line was eventually dropped as Mazda concentrated on their own SUV, namely the Tribute.

Are you confused yet? Don’t be as the two automakers have exchanged parts and vehicles for decades.

Mazda 2 concept greenIn the early part of this decade, Ford, which has a very strong truck division, needed a vehicle that was smaller and less costly than the pricey midsize Explorer to complement the fleet. Enter Mazda. Mazda designed and released the car-like Tribute for their own division, and a Ford version of the SUV, the Escape, was built by Ford in the US. Together, the vehicles have competed successfully against Toyota’s RAV4 and Honda CR-V.

For 2006, the Ford/Mazda relationship really heats up with the release of three cars based on the highly touted Mazda 6 platform: the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and the “near luxury” Lincoln Zephyr. All three sedans share similar components and borrow heavily from Ford’s relationship with Mazda.

If you purchase a Ford or Mazda product that has in fact been rebadged will the Ford parts and the Mazda parts be the same? Good question! Major sections like the frame are likely to be the same, but many key components including suspension parts, brakes, and electrical parts, may be different. A better thing to do when purchasing replacement Ford or Mazda parts is to check your vehicle’s owners manual or visit a reputable online store, such as Car Parts Stuff, for the right parts for your make and model. You may think you are getting the same parts, but you can only be certain if you verify that information.

Ford and Mazda have a relationship that appears to be mutually beneficial to the two automakers. Judging by the new products being offered, the relationship is certain to grow stronger in the coming years.

What forces drive in that remarkable acceleration is the plant of which is a transversely-mounted 2.

The 5 liter engine capable of up to 218 horsepower at 5000 revs per minute. The problem is common to all convertibles, however, is that once you lower the top, cut the luggage space in half, and VOLVO C70 is no exception to this. But efforts to present the draft of the convertible gives the driver a mechanism that allows him to raise the top while in the trunk to allow loading of the luggage under the before lowering it again. While this does not solve the problem of storage space is a smart way to make the best of the situation.

Overall, the convertible is a great ride, not only provides good aesthetic value and great performance, with a healthy slice of security thrown in the mix.
